It also follows allegations made by Vice Mayor and City councilmember <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodunlocked.com\/tag\/jason-lee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Jason Lee<\/strong> <\/a>\u2014 who alleged Teramoto inappropriately contacted Roland\u2019s office regarding Stockton City Council District 1 candidate <strong>Tamica Small<\/strong>\u2018s ballot materials.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RELATED<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodunlocked.com\/the-interview-you-cant-miss-jason-lee-and-mayoral-candidate-christina-fugazi-expose-the-real-stockton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Interview You Can\u2019t Miss: Jason Lee And Mayoral Candidate Christina Fugazi Expose The Real Stockton<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-stockton-city-attorney-says-city-clerk-office-requests-election-interference-probe-into-mayor-christina-fugazi\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stockton City Attorney Says City Clerk Office Requests Election Interference Probe Into Mayor Christina Fugazi<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.recordnet.com\/story\/news\/politics\/government\/2026\/07\/18\/stockton-clerk-seeks-investigation-into-mayors-spokesperson-over-election-claim\/90962458007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stockton Record<\/a>, citing a July 1 email from City Attorney <strong>Marci Arredondo<\/strong>, Teramoto is accused of \u201cattempting to interfere with a recent election by improperly pressuring Roland as the city\u2019s elections official.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The email \u2014 which was obtained by The Record after being sent to Stockton city councilmembers \u2014 claims the City Clerk requested this election interference probe as of July 1. In the email, Arredondo wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPlease be advised that today Katherine Roland has requested an investigation concerning the mayor\u2019s public information officer Jason Teramoto. Katherine alleges that Mr. Teramoto attempted to interfere with the prior election and pressure Katherine Roland in her role as city clerk.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arredondo\u2019s email also warns against councilmembers publicly speaking about the probe and about seeking any adverse action against Roland. It is made clear that such actions will be seen as a violation of privacy rights and retaliation, and will be handled accordingly. Arredondo wrote: <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cKatherine has an argument that she is a whistleblower and that any adverse action taken near her alleging wrongdoing against the city is retaliation\u2026 Therefore, I would recommend that council not discuss said matters as doing so at the very minimum, could discourage others from making complaints.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RELATED<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodunlocked.com\/christina-fugazi-is-stocktons-hope-for-a-safer-stronger-stockton\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mayoral Candidate Christina Fugazi Is Stockton\u2019s Hope For A Safer Stronger Stockton<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-stockton-city-mayor-christina-fugazi-and-spokesperson-accused-of-election-interference\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stockton City Mayor Christina Fugazi And Spokesperson Accused Of Election Interference<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Stockton Record also reports that Arredondo\u2019s email arrives after Vice Mayor Jason Lee\u2019s attorney, <strong>Walter Mosley<\/strong>, issued a letter on June 16. In the letter, Mosley asked Arredondo to immediately open a probe into Jason Teramoto\u2019s alleged communications with Roland\u2019s office regarding Tamica Small\u2019s ballot materials.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mosley explained that Lee learned about Teramoto\u2019s alleged actions and that the latter allegedly asked Roland\u2019s office to change the Small\u2019s materials. When told he wasn\u2019t allowed to make the request, Teramoto allegedly said, \u201cBe creative.\u201d Mosley\u2019s letter reads:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe city clerk\u2019s election function exists precisely so that ballot administration is neutral and rule-bound. Ballots are not press releases. Candidate statements are not talking points. And the clerk\u2019s office should never be asked to \u2018Be creative\u2019 with a candidate\u2019s official materials by a political communications employee assigned to the mayor\u2019s office. The Record reported Lee asked, \u201cbe removed from any election-related or candidate-related duties, public-facing city communications, media contacts, stakeholder communications and contact with the city clerk\u2019s office concerning elections, candidates, ballot designations, candidate statements or campaign matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elsewhere, in a June 19 statement, Lee said:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo city employee, least of all one sitting in the mayor\u2019s own office, should ever be in a position to alter a candidate\u2019s ballot materials, or to use a taxpayer-funded position to pressure and undermine an elected official. I\u2019ve asked the city to act now: preserve every piece of evidence, launch an independent investigation and remove Mr. Teramoto from any role touching our elections while the facts are determined.
