That, according to her Instagram account. She was 59.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA social media post from the band today noted Finch waged \u201ca long courageous fight with brain cancer.\u201d Earlier this month, friends and family launched a <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/jennifer-finch-vs-brain-cancer-its-time-to-make-noise?attribution_id=sl:948e2de0-e7d6-4c7a-8576-13745b2d00ab&amp;lang=en_US&amp;ts=1783944038&amp;utm_campaign=man_sharesheet_dash&amp;utm_content=amp20_t1&amp;utm_medium=customer&amp;utm_source=copy_link\" target=\"_blank\">GoFundMe page<\/a> to help pay for \u201cprofessional in-home nursing care, physical and speech therapy, medical equipment.\u201d As of today, that fundraiser had raised $395,000 on its goal of $350,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-features\/l7-to-hell-and-back-120783\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Rolling Stone<\/em>\u00a0profile<\/a>\u00a0of the band once described Finch as \u201can ill-behaved and untrained bassist who added instant verve to their live act\u201d when she joined in 1986.\u00a0She left in 1996 in order to get sober and deal with the death of her father. During her first run with the band Finch, who also contributed vocals, wrote the songs \u201c(Right On) Thru\u201d, \u201cEverglade\u201d and \u201cShirley.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn 1994, Finch and bandmates Suzi Gardner (guitars, vocals), Donita Sparks (vocals, guitars) and Dee Plakas (drums, vocals) played a band called called Camel Lips in John Waters\u2019 <em>Serial Mom<\/em>, performing the track \u201cGas Chamber,\u201d which they co-wrote with Waters. Finch also had a small part in the 2017 film <em>Scumbag<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShe joined Gardner, Sparks, and Plakas in L7 again from 2014 to 2026. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBefore L7, Finch was in Sugar Babydoll alongside Courtney Love and future Babes in Toyland founder Kat Bjelland.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>DEADLINE RELATED VIDEO:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe band <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/l7-jennifer-finch-dead-obituary-1235595523\/\" target=\"_blank\">issued a statement<\/a> today praising \u201cJennifer Finch, whose fierce spirit, humor and boundless creativity helped shape L7 and changed all of our lives forever.
