Vance<\/strong> announced the birth of his fourth child with wife, <strong>Usha Vance<\/strong>, in Washington, D.C., on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The baby is the first child born to a sitting U.S. vice president in more than 150 years, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AP\/status\/2078969919324987632\">according to the Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are excited to announce that our baby boy, <strong>Alec Neel Vance<\/strong>, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother,&#8221; Vance wrote on social media.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The incredible military doctors and staff members of Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit have been a blessing. She met JD Vance as they both were studying at Yale Law School.<\/p>\n<p>Vance, who is Christian, while his wife is Hindu, has spoken about his experience raising their young children in an interfaith household.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We talk to each other about this stuff. So, we decided to raise our kids Christian. Our two oldest kids go to a Christian school,&#8221; Vance said last October, adding, &#8220;My 8-year-old was very proud of his First Communion.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Before his inauguration as vice president, Vance and his family lived in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served briefly as U.S. senator from Ohio before joining <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong> in the race for the White House.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2025, Vance spoke to Fox News about how his children were adjusting to life as the second family. Vance said the couple was trying to &#8220;deliver as much normalcy to the kids in a very abnormal situation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All three Vance children joined their parents on a four-day visit to India last spring, as the vice president met with Prime Minister <strong>Narendra Modi<\/strong>.
