FIFA even <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/martynziegler\/status\/2077092109983814017?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">broke their own rules<\/a> and allowed for the halftime break to be up to 30 minutes as opposed to the usual 15 minutes, but given the overall number of performers and the preparation needed, it\u2019s easy to see why.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=bts%2Afifa-world-cup-halftime-button&amp;subId2=&amp;subId3=&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Fbts-bangtan-boys-tickets%2Fperformer%2F42104\" class=\"button button-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Get BTS Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Madonna kicked things off with a medley of \u201cMusic\u201d and \u201cDanceteria,\u201d joined by Brazilian soccer legends Ronaldinho and Ronaldo in a nightclub themed set. From there, the production moved at a dizzying pace: Gustavo Dudamel conducted Iranian vocalist Bijan Mortazavi, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, the New York Philharmonic, and Venezuela\u2019s Sim\u00f3n Bol\u00edvar Symphony Orchestra through a cover of \u201cSeven Nation Army,\u201d before BTS brought the \u201cDynamite.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Related Video<\/p>\n<p>Jason Sudeikis and fellow <em>Ted Lasso<\/em> cast member Brendan Hunt then introduced Justin Bieber, who brought the momentum to a near standstill with a subdued acoustic rendition of \u201cEverything Hallelujah.\u201d Shakira and Burna Boy quickly revived the atmosphere with \u201cDai Dai,\u201d the official song of the 2026 World Cup and one of the show\u2019s strongest moments.<\/p>\n<p>The PS22 Chorus closed the production with an original song titled \u201cWe Dance,\u201d joined by members of Coldplay, Shakira, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, and a seemingly endless procession of other musicians.<\/p>\n<p>All told, it was an extraordinary amount of spectacle crammed into roughly 11 minutes. The show was chaotic, occasionally messy, and burdened by transitions, particularly the tonal whiplash between BTS and Bieber. Still, there were flashes of genuine fun, most notably from BTS and Shakira, and the sheer scale of the production was difficult to deny. It may not have been especially coherent, especially in comparison to the NFL\u2019s Super Bowl spectacle, but it certainly lived up to its billing as a halftime show for the biggest sporting event in the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vivid-seats.pxf.io\/c\/1882189\/952533\/12730?subId1=shakira%2Afifa-world-cup-halftime-button&amp;subId2=&amp;subId3=&amp;sharedid=&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vividseats.com%2Fshakira-tickets%2Fperformer%2F3599\" class=\"button button-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Shop Shakira Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Aside from being quite a spectacle, the Global Citizen-produced show also came in support of a cause. It was designed to spotlight the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalcitizen.org\/en\/projects\/fifa-global-citizen-education-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund<\/a>, a joint initiative aiming to raise $100 million to expand access to education and football opportunities for children worldwide.
