Vance<\/strong> to be his running-mate, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>According to &#8220;a person familiar with the conversation,&#8221; Luna then admitted to tipping off MAGA influencer <strong>Rogan O&#8217;Handley<\/strong>, who goes by the online handle, &#8220;DC Draino,&#8221; so he could bet on Vance via prediction market platform Polymarket.<\/p>\n<p>Luna allegedly said she &#8220;teased O&#8217;Handley&#8221; about &#8220;not placing a bigger wager,&#8221; <em>The Wall Street Journal<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Handley also told associates he placed &#8220;a winning bet&#8221; on Polymarket after receiving the Vance tip from Luna.<\/p>\n<p>When WSJ reached O\u2019Handley for comment, he denied &#8220;receiving, trading on or discussing nonpublic information about Trump\u2019s vice presidential pick.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny suggestion that I traded on confidential information or discussed doing so is inaccurate,\u201d he told the outlet in a statement in which he denied wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p>Another source told WSJ the federal Commodity Futures Trading Commission was investigating the allegation of insider trading. Not all investigations are &#8220;indicative of wrongdoing,&#8221; the <em>Journal<\/em> noted.<\/p>\n<p>O&#8217;Handley said he was &#8220;unaware of any federal investigation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Luna lodged a criminal complaint with the CFTC &#8220;alleging someone had made knowingly false reports to that agency,&#8221; a spokesman for the congresswoman said.<\/p>\n<p>The congresswoman dismissed the suggestion she&#8217;d given anyone insider information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am honored the WSJ thinks I am telepathic but unfortunately I am not,&#8221; she told the <em>Journal<\/em> in a statement, adding she would \u201ccontinue to champion the fight against insider trading.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Luna has led the charge in the House of Representatives to ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks, and filed a discharge petition in December to bring bipartisan legislation to the floor for an up-or-down vote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is one of the most popular, most supported issues in the entire country,&#8221; Luna said in a press release. &#8220;Americans deserve a Congress that works for them, not for special interests or personal portfolios.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/trumps-teleprompter-operator-made-100k-betting-on-his-speeches-on-prediction-market-report\/\">ABC News reported<\/a> that Trump&#8217;s teleprompter operator made $100,000 on a prediction market by allegedly using insider information from the president&#8217;s speeches.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/anna-paulina-luna-reportedly-tipped-off-maga-influencer-who-won-big-betting-on-trumps-vp-pick\/\">Anna Paulina Luna Reportedly Tipped Off MAGA Influencer Who Won Big Betting on Trump\u2019s VP Pick<\/a> first appeared on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\">Mediaite<\/a>.<\/p>\n<script async=\"async\" data-cfasync=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/pl30214220.effectivecpmnetwork.com\/9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<div id=\"container-9ab3d4df8a7e1a6171e16ddbf732cc19\"><\/div>\r\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Francis Chung\/POLITICO via AP Images) Rep.
