Focusing on the Flood&#8217;s very first introduction during the familiar outbreak on the Installation 04 Halo Ring, the story instead shows the events from the perspective of the UNSC Marines that made first contact with the unstoppable parasite.<\/p>\n<p>Acting as not only a <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/halo-fall-of-reach-prequel-november-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\">prequel to the later events<\/a> of <em>Halo: Combat Evolved<\/em>, <em>Halo: Parasite&#8217;s Wake<\/em> also promises to carry over elements that were first introduced with the original <em>Halo: The Flood<\/em> adaptation of the game&#8217;s events. This time aroundm, <em>Parasite&#8217;s Wake<\/em> follows Staff Sergeant Marvin Mobuto, who was first introduced as a minor character in the previous novel that even Chief himself noted as having fought incredibly admirably during the horrific event.<\/p>\n<p>While we already have a general idea of what happened to the Marines trapped within the installation&#8217;s underbelly during the events of <em>Combat Evolved<\/em>, the more horror-focused lens of the upcoming novel is a perfect way to capture the truly horrifying tactics of the Flood and their unstoppable nature as a squad of ex-convicts led by Marvin Mobuto already sounds like a great setup for another <em>Alien<\/em> film, and it&#8217;s always great when we get to see more human perspectives from combatants who aren&#8217;t strapped in near-invulnerable exosuits, allowing a glimpse into just how horrifyingly helpless most encounters in the <em>Halo<\/em> franchise are for the everyday marine.<\/p>\n<p>Although we don&#8217;t exactly have to wait until September to find out the fate of most of the poor members of the UNSC that will be featured in the upcoming novel, <em>Halo: Parasite&#8217;s Wake <\/em>is just another entry in the incredibly <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/halo-books-chronological-order-vs-release-date\/\" target=\"_blank\">expansive series of novels<\/a> that have kept the lore of the series alive for so long, which more recent entries in the <strong><em>Halo<\/em><\/strong> franchise haven&#8217;t shied way from including their newer
