They join returning coaches - will i am, and Sir Tom Jones.\" decoding=\"sync\"\/>\t<\/div><figcaption>The Voice asked a bakery for free goods and has been forced to apologise (Picture: ITV\/Rachel Joseph\/REX\/Shutterstock)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/itv\/\">ITV<\/a>\u2019s competition show <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/the-voice\/\">The Voice<\/a> has apologised after being called out for asking a bakery to provide food, unpaid.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Get Baked UK, run by Rich Myers, shared an email from a producer which he initially believed was a \u2018wind up\u2019 before realising the request was \u2018totally real\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>They, alongside production company Lifted Entertainment, have since reached out to apologise for \u2018any upset caused\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In the original email, a producer had reached out and asked that Get Baked supply their \u2018amazing products\u2019 to be in the <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2025\/06\/16\/voice-uk-fans-face-major-blow-itv-reveals-shake-up-23430309\/\">green rooms and talent dressing rooms at The Voice.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The catch was that they were \u2018unable to offer anything monetary or otherwise\u2019 as payment for the goods.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the producer highlighted the \u2018exposure\u2019 to presenters and coaches who are \u2018highly influential\u2019 as well as contestants.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p>Rich branded ITV and Lifted Entertainment a \u2018total disgrace\u2019, asking \u2018how did we get here\u2019 when he posted on <a data-ico=\"hyperlink-article\" data-track=\"inline-tag-auto-link_article\" href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/tag\/social-media\/\">social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He said in another post that a company making \u00a3350million in profit asking for free cake, should be made illegal.<\/p>\n<p>The baker replied to the producer, writing: \u2018I must admit I\u2019m trying really hard not to bite at this stuff as of late, but on this occasion I simply cannot resist.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>He insisted he wasn\u2019t blaming the person who sent the email but asked them to tell their \u2018boss, boss\u2019s boss, and boss\u2019s boss\u2019s boss\u2019 to \u2018f off\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Within hours, Rich\u2019s post had gone viral with hundreds of comments from other prominent food businesses and disappointed viewers.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-instagram wp-block-embed-instagram\"\/>\n<p>Haircare brand Silkie claimed to have received the same email, with Choc on Choc saying they \u2018fell for\u2019 the offer in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>In response, ITV emailed him again, which read: \u2018We wanted to reach out to apologise for any upset caused by our email.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018This was not in line with our usual way of working nor does it reflect the standards we expect of ourselves. Time will tell.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>To his followers, he added: \u2018If you own an independent business, and ITV do happen to come knocking, please be sure to let me know. I feel like I\u2019m the new presenter for WatchDog or whatever it\u2019s called. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018Maybe I\u2019m on about Crime Watch?
