{"id":10050,"date":"2026-07-19T00:18:28","date_gmt":"2026-07-18T19:18:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=10050"},"modified":"2026-07-19T00:18:28","modified_gmt":"2026-07-18T19:18:28","slug":"foxs-joey-jones-warns-trump-his-iran-strategy-isnt-working","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/usnews-14267fa.ingress-comporellon.ewp.live\/?p=10050","title":{"rendered":"Fox&#8217;s Joey Jones Warns Trump His Iran Strategy Isn&#8217;t Working"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><script>\r\n  atOptions = {\r\n    'key' : '644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6',\r\n    'format' : 'iframe',\r\n    'height' : 90,\r\n    'width' : 728,\r\n    'params' : {}\r\n  };\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script src=\"https:\/\/www.highperformanceformat.com\/644b717812d811d6a1c1fc5b6ccd6fa6\/invoke.js\"><\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"post-body\">\n<p>Fox News contributor and Marine combat veteran <strong>Joey Jones<\/strong> warned on Fox News that President Donald Trump\u2019s strategy of \u201csimply dropping bombs\u201d on Iran is not working \u2014 after news broke Saturday that two American service members have been killed in the escalating conflict.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/tag\/joey-jones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jones<\/a>, who still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/fox-news-host-joey-jones-re-enlists-in-marine-corps-with-ex-network-colleague-hegseth-swearing-him-in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">serves<\/a> in the Marine Reserves, joined Fox News on Saturday shortly after U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/media\/news\/breaking-two-u-s-troops-killed-and-one-missing-after-iran-strikes-base-in-jordan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a>\u00a0two U.S. service members were killed by Iran and another service member is currently missing in action.<\/p>\n<p>Jones called the lost service members \u201cheroes\u201d and \u201cgladiators among us,\u201d and argued most Americans are asking how Iran\u2019s ballistic missile strikes are \u201cpossible\u201d when U.S. officials have repeatedly said Iran\u2019s military is \u201cdecimated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>People at home don\u2019t get a chance to have those answers, to understand if a nuclear facility is fully decimated because you can\u2019t get to the material easy, or if it\u2019s fully decimated because you killed all of nuclear scientists that were using it. Those are the nuances that we don\u2019t have an opportunity to understand. What we do understand very well is when two Americans are killed. Most Americans say, how is that possible?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Jones argued it may be time for Trump to shake up his strategy and drop a \u201cbig stick\u201d because \u201csimply dropping bombs from the air isn\u2019t stopping them from doing what they want:\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>When we talk in hyperbole and grand statements, sometimes reality hits us in the face, and we lose two Americans in Jordan where most of us thought that wasn\u2019t really on the table anymore. And when I say most of it, I mean Americans. Not necessarily myself. That is the balance, balancing act that this administration is going to have to walk if they\u2019re continuing this war. And I don\u2019t mean continuing to escalate it. That\u2019s something Iran has done. We put an MOU [Memorandum of Understanding] on the table. We put parameters in place to get away from attacking anything, and they started attacking ships. But, you know, I often say that President Trump speaks loudly and carries a big stick. Right now might be the time that the big stick part matters most because simply dropping bombs from the air isn\u2019t stopping them from doing what they want.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Aishah Hasnie<\/strong> asked what exactly that \u201cbig stick\u201d looks like and Jones laid out multiple strategies, including completely walking away from the diplomatic table:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I think that is the question, Aishah, what is the big stick? I think, you know, the biggest thing they could do to show they mean business is to retract fully from all diplomatic efforts, pull all the comms back, be strategic, not tactical, meaning picking your targets methodically, not just a bunch of them at once, and scaring the will out of the leaders of Iran. That takes time. Time is not on our side. We\u2019re running to November right now, running to 2028 politically, we\u2019r running away from the gas pump. It takes time, a little bit of leverage, and I think both of those things the president has less and less of every week this moves on\u2026 People appreciate and respond to consistency.
